HISTORY
While we have a long way to go to achieve the vision the Lord has given us for our downtown property, we have already accomplished so much! In October of 2022, we purchased our current building and began meeting there for the first time by Christmas. We have invested over $150,000 back into the property through various improvements. This includes overhauling and upgrading the water service and sprinkler system, remodeling space upstairs for our community gatherings, and enhancing our main downstairs area as funding allows, which encompasses resurfacing concrete floors, upgrading some electrical systems, and addressing the boiler system.
Additionally, we are making an impact in the local community. Our efforts have included significant cleaning and vandalism repair, establishing a ministry of presence in the neighborhood by meeting at least twice a week in the space. We have also been feeding our church body and the local residents through periodic barbeques. Our commitment to safety and security is demonstrated through regular patrols and our partnership with law enforcement to tackle crime in the area. The steps we have taken are just the beginning of our mission to serve and restore our community.
RESPONSE CHURCH IS CALLED TO DOWNTOWN ANCHORAGE.
IT IS OUR INTENT TO CHANGE THE CULTURE OF ANCHORAGE, BY MAKING CULTURE IN THE HEART OF OUR CITY THAT REFLECTS THE HEART OF GOD.
MISSION
Our mission as a church is to glorify God by being a community that worships the triune-God of the Bible, proclaims His Gospel, loves one another, and makes disciples of Jesus in the world.
It is our conviction that by fostering this kind of community in the heart of our city, we will create a lasting impact in Anchorage that will spread beyond.
To that end, our capital campaign seeks to raise the funds for creating a multi-functional facility in downtown Anchorage. With our mission in mind, this space will serve a three-tier purpose: a home and gathering space for our church family, a discipleship school for training Christians, and an auditorium and coffeehouse for our city.
